About Us
Quarter Slide was born out of creativity, necessity, and a passion for games.
It all began in February 2018 when a few avid dart players found ourselves without a dartboard in the living room and with a bit of extra time on our hands.
Armed with a 12x24-inch piece of plywood, a handful of quarters, and some magic markers, we sketched out what would become the first prototype of Quarter Slide. In that moment, we saw the future - a vision of Quarter Slide as a beloved barroom or party game, much like darts.
What started as a spark of inspiration quickly turned into a labor of love. With backgrounds in graphic design and sign work, we poured countless hours into developing the game. Early versions were handcrafted with MDF, plexiglass, and a lot of determination.
By early 2020, Quarter Slide made its debut at the Great South Bay Brewery, where it was an instant hit. Excitement grew as we planned to showcase the game at conventions - until the pandemic put those plans on hold. COVID-19 brought challenges, but it also fueled our resolve. As material costs rose, we reimagined how to produce Quarter Slide in a way that remained affordable without compromising on quality.
Through persistence, we discovered innovative manufacturing methods that allowed us to print full-color graphics on durable PVC boards. By 2023, we had refined our design to be both beautiful and sturdy, ensuring a premium playing experience.
Now, with a finalized version featuring a quarter-inch PVC board and vibrant graphics - all proudly made in the USA, we're thrilled to relaunch Quarter Slide in January 2025 brought to you by Slide Works Studio LLC. From a spontaneous idea in the living room to a fully realized game, Quarter Slide represents our unwavering dedication to creating something special. We're excited to share it with you and hope it brings as much fun to your table as it has to ours.
